16th Annual Art Bra Contest & 2024 Power of Pink! Luncheon in Lufkin

Thursday, October 17th at 11:30 AM

Help us Light Up Awareness by participating in the 16th Annual Art Bra Contest and designing your own unique art bra. Participants put their creativity skills to the test and decorate bras as a reminder to women everywhere the importance of being screened for breast cancer.

"The Art Bra entries never cease to inspire and amaze the judges," says Tina Alexander-Sellers, Marketing and Communications Director at St. Luke's Health–Memorial. "The talent and creativity revealed in these entries are amazing."

The Art Bra was created years ago when a woman, who lost her mother to breast cancer, found buttons and trinkets among her mother's belongings. She refused to throw them out and instead found a creative way to remember her mother and help others. The daughter sewed those buttons and trinkets onto a bra and the rest is history.

The Art Bra has become one of the most anticipated portions of the Power of Pink! Luncheon. Whether the finalists are modeled by breast cancer survivors or male leaders in the community, each year is a surprise to see who will be walking the runway in their outrageous bras.

Entry forms may be picked up at Temple Cancer Center in Livingston Polk County Chamber of Commerce, or email a request to Kim Herman at [email protected].

Entries are due Monday, October 7, 2024, and may be turned in at Temple Cancer Center in Lufkin.

Celebrity judges will decide the top three entries and attendees at the Power of Pink! Luncheon will decide the overall winner.

The 2024 Power of Pink! Luncheon presented by St. Luke's Health and Georgia Pacific will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Pitser Garrison Convention Center. The doors open at 11 a.m. and the luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m.
