Skin-to-skin

We honor the Golden Hour and place baby skin-to-skin immediately following birth until completion of the first feeding. Our team of registered nurses at the Family Birthing Center are trained to be your first line of help with breastfeeding. At times, complex breastfeeding issues may arise and our Lactation Consultants are available 7 days a week to assist you

  • Inpatient Lactation Consultations 7 days a week
  • Monthly Breastfeeding Classes
  • Weekly Breastfeeding Support Group (Wednesday @ 10:00)
  • Hospital-Grade Pump Rentals through Lori’s Gifts

Breast Pump Rental Information

  • Breast pump rentals are available through Lori’s Gifts located on the 1st floor
  • of the hospital. For more information call 936.266.2070.
  • Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.—8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday 9:00 a.m.—7:00 p.m

Michelle works with new mothers and their babies to navigate difficulties that may along with breastfeeding.
