Meet Dr. James Herlihy, Chief of Critical Care

James Herlihy, MD, Baylor St. Luke’s chief of critical care, is a nationally renowned, award-winning pulmonologist. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine before completing his residency in internal medicine at Letterman Army Medical Center. He then went on to complete his postdoctoral fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Harvard Medical School.

He has since been named among the Top Pulmonary Specialists in the U.S. by U.S. News & World Report, a Top Doctor in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine by Houstonia Magazine, and Super Doctor in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine by Texas Monthly Magazine. He has also received Baylor College of Medicine’s Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellow Award for Teaching Clinical Excellence, as well as the Baylor St. Luke's Innovation Award for the development of the ICU model of care, including the Mobile ICU Program.
