Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Patients Medical Center - Pasadena, TX

Address

4500 East Sam Houston Pkwy S

Pasadena, TX 77505

Our pulmonary rehabilitation program at Patients Medical Center is designed to bring comprehensive care to those with chronic lung disease. Our patients are referred by their physician after meeting certain criteria during pulmonary function tests.

Our therapists work with your physicians to conduct a thorough assessment of your needs. We develop a personalized treatment plan that combines education and exercise to improve your daily life. Our program encourages the participation of your family members and caregivers as we share information about the disease as well as various coping strategies.

Pulmonary rehabilitation aims to reduce illness and hospitalization by helping patients understand and successfully manage the disease. With our multidisciplinary team, our patients can learn to breathe more efficiently, improve their endurance during functional activities, decrease anxiety and depression, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Exercise sessions include:

  • Strength training to help muscles overcome symptoms of the illness

  • Energy conservation tips that increase activity tolerance

  • Endurance training to help muscles use oxygen more efficiently

  • Relaxation tips to manage anxiety and shortness of breath

  • Breathing techniques to increase capacity, strength, and endurance
