The Transplant Center at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center

Since 1982, the Transplant Center at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center has provided exceptional healthcare to patients referred for heart, lung, kidney, and liver transplantation, as well as implantation of Left Ventricular Assist Devices. Our program provides a complete continuum of patient care, from initial counseling to post-transplant medical follow-up.

Why Choose Baylor St. Luke’s Transplant Center?

The Transplant Center is dedicated to improving outcomes for transplant patients, and we have a rich history of innovation and leadership in the development of new technology and treatments to do just that.

The key to our program’s success is the experienced team, which includes highly skilled surgeons, specialists, transplant coordinators, social workers, financial counselors, pharmacists, dieticians, rehabilitation specialists, circulatory support specialists, and other highly qualified healthcare professionals.

Our Transplant Program Includes:

Our Approach

  • Collaboration. To ensure the best possible outcomes and strive for the highest quality of life for our patients, Baylor St. Luke’s and Texas Heart Institute combine some of the best minds in surgery, cardiology, radiology, pathology, and oncology to collaborate on patient care and treatment.

  • Patient Advocacy. The Transplant Outreach Team serves as a liaison between community healthcare providers and the Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center Transplant Program. Our skilled Outreach Coordinators provide physicians and patients with the education they need to make an informed decision about transplantation and assist them in connecting with our transplant programs.

  • Financial Guidance. Our financial counselors help you assess costs and other aspects of your transplant experience. They will help determine how much your insurance will pay and how much your out-of-pocket expenses will be. The financial counselors will also assist you in locating resources to help with the costs of transplant.
