About Me: Mackenzie is originally from Eastern North Carolina, and received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her interests within the field of cardiology include advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac critical care. In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys spending time outside and exploring the Houston food scene. She also always loves supporting her alma mater - Go Heels!
Why Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center: The supportive yet challenging environment at BSLMC drew Mackenzie to this residency program. Being home to the Texas Heart Institute in addition to the well-known reputation for excellence in cardiology helped Mackenzie know that she would have ample learning opportunities here. She also felt supported by the preceptors and other residents at BSLMC during her interview, and knew this would be a positive learning environment to help her achieve her career goals.
