Big Houston Heart Campaign Boosts Love for Our Community’s COVID-19 Heroes

Houston, TX, April 2020 -- As part of its mission of compassion and service, St. Luke’s Health has launched the Big Houston Heart Campaign, a way for the community to show their support for frontline workers — healthcare professionals, law enforcement, rescue workers, firefighters — and everyone supporting the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Houstonians are encouraged to send in a photo of themselves making “heart hands” or submit their favorite heart artwork to ShowUsYourHoustonHeart.org. People can also share their images and messages of encouragement on social media using the hashtag #ShowUsYourHoustonHeart. In addition to visually showing our love for the frontline workers who keep our community strong, this social media campaign will also focus on raising awareness about COVID-19, including sharing advice from medical professionals and public health officials, as well as tips to stay safer during this time.

This campaign follows an initiative launched earlier this month to help members of our communities stay socially connected with their loved ones during this time. The Send Kindness Card Generator allows family and friends of St. Luke’s Health patients and employees to send customizable cards to someone at one of the health system’s hospitals. The Big Houston Heart campaign is another way to show some much needed human kindness in this time of social isolation. St. Luke’s Health is encouraging everyone to take part and spread joy as we work to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
