St. Luke’s Health (St. Luke’s) announced today that it has opened its seventh hospital in its Houston-area network, St. Luke’s Health–Springwoods Village Hospital (Springwoods Village Hospital) in North Houston. St. Luke’s will be the exclusive healthcare provider in this master planned, mixed-use community for the next five years.

“Springwoods Village is a unique community that represents sustainable, healthy living. We are proud to provide our model of patient-centered care to guarantee that families in this growing community have direct access to healthcare, said Michael H. Covert, Chief Executive Officer, St. Luke’s Health. “As an integrated community healthcare provider, we are dedicated to ensuring that Springwoods Village remains a healthy community for years to come.”

The $120 million medical campus includes a 55,000 square foot ambulatory medical center and a 100,000 square foot medical office building with space for more than 30 physicians. The facility will provide access to health and wellness services, such as Diagnostic Imaging, Primary and Specialty Care, Personalized Medicine, and Performance Medicine. The 150,000 square foot, LEED silver-certified hospital features:

  • Floor 1: Emergency department, inpatient beds, diagnostic imaging
  • Floor 2: Operating rooms, endoscopy suites, pre-op rooms, post-anesthesia care unit (PACU)
  • Floor 3: Multi-use Primary and Specialty Care Clinic
  • Floors 4-6: Medical Office Building

Floors 1 and 2 are open for patient care. Floors 3-6 will be opened later this Spring.

“We want families to experience healthcare in a new way,” said David G. Argueta, President, St. Luke’s Health–The Woodlands, Lakeside, and Springwoods Village Hospitals. “To achieve this, we are providing a higher level of care with seamless access to our network of healthcare facilities, close to home. As the sole healthcare provider in Springwoods Village, we will be able to shape and evolve with the community’s needs for health and wellness.”

In addition, the Springwoods Village Hospital offers residents of the community and surrounding areas access to high-quality care, as well as an alliance of some of the nation’s top physicians, researchers, and hospitals. The Springwoods Village facility joins St. Luke’s Health, which has partnerships with Baylor College of Medicine® and Texas Heart® Institute to provide patient access to the best physicians, health care services, and medical technology.

Located 25 miles north of Downtown Houston, Springwoods Village is a 1,800-acre community in north Harris County, and home to the new ExxonMobil corporate campus and Southwestern Energy’s consolidated headquarters. Designed for sustainability, Springwoods Village will serve a population of up to 50,000 employees and residents while providing diverse housing options and amenities, such as shopping, dining, schools, civic facilities and outdoor recreation.

“CHI St. Luke’s has been providing compassionate healthcare to Southeast Texas for more than 60 years, and we have been honored to serve North Houston for more than a decade. We’re eager to continue our strong legacy within the region by expanding our clinical programs, new models of care and cost-effective treatment options,” said Michael McBride, President of Suburban Hospitals, St. Luke’s Health.
