Surgical Technologists Recognized by Memorial Health System of East Texas

Posted in:

Assisting in surgical operations, Surgical Technologists are a vital part of an operating room.  Memorial Health System of East Texas is recognizing the vital role surgical technologists play in any surgical procedure during National Surgical Technology Week, September 19-25. Surgical technologists not only assist during an operation by passing instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants, but they also play an important role in preparing the operating room for surgery.

In fact, Surgical Technologists are responsible for setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions. They assemble both sterile and nonsterile equipment, as well as check and adjust it to ensure that it is working properly.  Memorial Health System of East Texas is recognizing surgical technologists Adam Glezen, Oscar Hercules, Carlos Solorzano, Rhonda Winebrenner, Stephanie Dilday, Leslie Friday, Jairo Monroy, Patricia Conrad, Gissel Valadez, Donta Davis, Erica Proctor, Cheryl Green (not pictured: Heather McCall, Susan Sloan, Crystal Sepalvado and Jamie Flournoy) for the vital role they play during surgeries.
