Radiation Oncology

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Group radiation oncologists are highly skilled in targeting tumors and reducing potential damage to healthy cells. Radiation oncologists use high energy particles or waves to destroy cancer cells. Unlike chemotherapy, radiation therapy treats only the localized affected area. Cancer cells in the radiation field, the area where the radiation is delivered, are reduced or eliminated. Radiation therapy is often used to treat many types of cancers, including:

  • Breast Cancer
